Volkswagen T-Cross is the brand’s smallest SUV and it will compete with Tata Harrier and Nissan Kicks alongside Hyundai Creta.
Volkswagen T-Cross SUV has been making buzz for quite some time and the compact SUV has been revealed online finally. The SUV will compete with rivals like Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Nissan Kicks upon its arrival in India. Based on the MQB A0 architecture, this SUV is expected to be am appealing model from the brand. While a smaller variant of the car was revealed in Amsterdam earlier, a longer variant is being readied for the emerging markets like India, South Africa, Brazil and China.
As the entire global auto industry is shifting its focus on SUVs, the German giant doesn’t want to stay behind in race. Volkswagen T-Cross comes wearing the brand’s latest design language and it is loaded with premium features and technologies. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4.19 metre in length and 1.56 metre in height, while the wheelbase is 2.65 metre long.
Speaking about its design, the Volkswagen T-Cross gets projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, chrome garnished front grille, rubberized body cladding at bumpers, LED taillights and a horizontal sleek lightbar at the centre of tailgate. Inside the cabin, this SUV sports a very premium feel with large touchscreen infotainment system hosting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, upmarket quality seats and upholstery etc.
Speaking about the power source of India-bound Volkswagen T-Cross gets a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that is capable of churning out 126 bhp of power and 196 Nm of torque. Also, the car boasts a 1.4-litre TSI petrol motor. Transmission option could include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit as well.
