Sold through the Nexa premium network, the Baleno RS is performance focused model of the Baleno and it comes with couple of cosmetic updates and a 1.0-litre boosterjet engine that does the job task neatly. Tata Tiago JTP has been launched at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS on the other hand comes priced at Rs 8.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Clearly, the Tiago JTP has been introduced at a highly aggressive price tag compared to the rival model from Maruti Suzuki.

Tata Tiago JTP is powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that works under the hood of regular model. The engine has been re-tuned to deliver more power and torque compared to the standard model. The Tiago JTP is capable of churning out 112 bhp of power and 150 Nm of torque. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. As Tata Motors claims, the performance hatchback can reach 0-100 kmph in slightly less than 9.95 seconds.
Speaking about the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS, it gets energy from a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine that is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine churns out 101 bhp of peak power along with 150 Nm of torque. The car can reach 0-100 kmph in 10.3 seconds, slightly slower than the Tiago JTP.
