India-bound new generation Toyota Corolla sedan has finally made its global debut at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China. The sedan is based on Toyota’s new generation TNGA platform and it boasts an alluring design that grabs attention at the very first glimpse. As the Japanese automaker says, this sedan will be launched across 150 countries gradually in coming months, with India being one among them.
The new generation Toyota Corolla is not only very stylish and premium looking, but it features a wide range of changes over the previous model that make the sedan more appealing and practical. The front fascia has been completely changed with a new grille and sharper headlamps. LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights add zing to the sedan. Subtle character lines, larger alloy wheels, new design LED taillights are the other elements add style to the car.
Not only exterior, cabin of the sedan has gone through a host of changes. The dashboard appears with a clean and contemporary styling, while the 4.2-inch dash-top touchscreen infotainment system boosts the premium feel. Also, there is a large 7.0-inch display at the instrument cluster giving the sedan a sporty and stylish vibe. A dual-tone theme is there inside the cabin, while the seat and upholstery materials have been improved.
The new generation Toyota Corolla comes with a 2.0-litre Dynamic Force engine coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox and there is a CVT as well. The automaker is yet to announce which engine will be available in Indian market. There is a hybrid variant of the sedan as well that is expected to be available in India considering the brand’s aim to jump into the greener powertrain technology in country market.
