Tata Hornbill (X445) micro-SUV will compete with rivals like Mahindra KUV100, expected to launch in 2021.
Tata Motors is on a spree to launch some stunningly exciting cars and one of the upcoming models from the homegrown brand is the Tata Hornbill, internally codenamed as X445. This micro-SUV has been teased in a video by the brand and expected to launch in India sometime by 2021. Upon launch, the Tata Hornbill will compete with rivals like Mahindra KUV100.
Despite being a small SUV, the Tata Hornbill will come with a butch look for sure that will give it a strong road presence. This micro SUV will be based on Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) and it will follow the brand’s latest Impact 2.0 design language. Tata Hornbill will also get features like projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a bulky radiator grille, large and sporty alloy wheels, LED taillights, integrated roof spoiler etc. Cabin of the Tata Hornbill will be as exciting as its exterior. Expect it to take design cue from the Tata Nexon.

The interior of Tata Hornbill will surely sport a large touchscreen infotainment system, probably like the Nexon’s floating dashtop unit. There will be a layered dashboard with silver accents adding zing, while there will be ample space on offer ensuring comfortable journey experience for the occupants. The multifunction steering wheel, dual-pod instrument cluster with digital MID will be other things to be seen in this model. Also, expect ambient lighting and some premium features along with advanced safety features that will certainly boost its appeal further.
Expect the upcoming micro-SUV to be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. It could get the same engines as the Tata Nexon. However, the brand is tightlipped about any kind of detail regarding this model. Speaking about transmission options, the car will come with both manual and automatic gearboxes. However, Tata Motors could go for an AMT instead of a fully automatic gearbox to keep the pricing lower.
