2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be based on Heartect platform and it will get a host of premium features
Maruti Suzuki is working on the new generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR. The next-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR is ready for launch in India on January 23, 2019. It will be based on Heartect platform and will come with a host of premium features on board. Also, there will be a significantly updated design as well. The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR price is expected to be higher than the current model. It has been already launched in Japan, Suzuki’s home soil. It will compete with the recently launched new Hyundai Santro.
The all-new Maruti Suzuki WagonR tallboy hatchback will come more muscular and bold looking. It will get a flat face with revised headlamps and front grille. The wheels too will become more stylish compared to the current model. As the JDM-spec model gets a partially blackened out B pillar, expect the India-spec model too to get the same.
The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR interior is going to be drastically updated compared to the current model. It will get a touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel. The dashboard will get a stylish layout. Seat and upholstery will come with improved quality. Expect the new WagonR to offer a more comfortable and spacious journey experience.
Speaking about the power source, the India-spec model could continue with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. The power and torque output too would remain the same. The new WagonR would boast improved mileage.

No wonder, Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been a very profitable model for the brand. The updated version is expected to boost its appeal and sales both. An interesting fact is, the new generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR will get an electric variant as well. The electric powered WagonR is currently being tested by the automaker in India. It will launch in April 2020 and this is going to be the brand’s first-ever electric vehicle.
