Toyota Innova Crysta fetched TKM over Rs 2,200 crore in December 2018 with 11,200 units booked, almost 50% jump over average monthly sales
Toyota Innova Crysta certainly is one of the bestselling cars in India from the Japanese brand. This MPV has again proved its mettle for the automaker when it fetched over Rs 2,200 crore in December 2018. No wonder, Toyota finished 2018 in a good note with such a number of bookings for Toyota Innova Crysta.
Toyota launched the ‘Remember December’ campaign in 2018 for models like Etios, Liva, Toyota Yaris sedan and Toyota Fortuner SUV. But, there was no offer for the Toyota Innova Crysta premium MPV. Despite that, the MPV saw a significant surge in demand from the Indian buyers in the last month of 2018. This reflects a recent trend, how the Indian customers are shifting their focus on the MPVs from other segments. Spaciousness, premium features and comfort of MPVs are combined with the capability to expenditure in boosting the demands for MPVs.

Considered as the king of MPVs in the Indian market, Toyota Innova Crysta was expected to face heat from the Mahindra Marazzo. The latter is priced lower and poses a direct threat to the Innova Crysta. However, the Toyota MPV remained unaffected despite the challenge from the Mahindra car. The December 2018 booking number for the Toyota Innova Crysta is almost double the average monthly sales of the car in 2018.

Toyota Innova Crysta was launched in India back in 2016. It is available in India at a pricing range of Rs 14.83 lakh and Rs 23.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There are both petrol and diesel engine options for the MPV. The petrol variant gets a 2.7-litre engine with both manual and automatic gearbox options. On the diesel front, there is a 2.4-litre engine and a 2.8-litre unit as well. Toyota introduced the Touring Sport trim of the car that comes with a bit of accessory and cosmetic changes.
