Available at a starting price of Rs 4.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Maruti WagonR is not only bigger in size but on space, comfort and features too. It comes more powerful as well. New design
The new WagonR comes with a refreshed design inside out. Redesigned fascia with new headlamps and fog lamps, vertical taillights, chrome bits and new wheels add zing to the car. Sculpted fenders add masculinity to the new WagonR. Inside the cabin, there is a new dashboard layout along with revised seats. So far, the restyled Maruti WagonR looks much better than the previous version.
New features
Maruti Suzuki has worked on the features and added a new touchscreen infotainment system. This floating pad-like infotainment system gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Maruti WagonR also gets a large instrument cluster with large analogue dials and a digital MID as well with orange backlit. Thanks to a revised design, the new Maruti WagonR promises more space and comfort to the occupants. The new Maruti WagonR boasts at least 30% more space inside the cabin. Both the front tracks have been increased making the new WagonR wider than the outgoing model. Bigger and better engine
The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR gets a bigger and more powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine. This is available alongside the existing 1.0-litre K10B unit. The new engine is capable of churning out 82 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm. Also, the engine promises 21.5 kmpl of mileage. It is available with both manual and AMT gearboxes.
Better safety
The new WagonR is based on Suzuki Heartect platform. This new architecture ensures more rigidity and strength to the car despite being lightweight. Also, there are ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensor, driver airbags, seatbelt reminder, speed alert system etc. Usage of 40% high strength steel has ensured more safety for the occupants.
