MG Hector is the upcoming mid-size SUV from MG Motors awaited to go on sale from June 2019
MG Hector SUV has been already spied testing in India. Based on the Baojun 530, this upcoming mid-size SUV will be an important model for the MG Motors in India. The automaker is gearing up to start its journey in India from June 2019. Ahead of that, interest about this SUV is also growing. Interestingly, MG Motors has tied up with self-driving car sharing company Myles to offer the people chance to drive this SUV without owning it.
The British car brand will certainly get advantage of Myles’ existing network across India. The partnership between these two companies is identical to the tie-up between Tata Motors and Zoomcar. Tata Tigor EV comes available for self-driving through Zoomcar.

Coming back to MG Hector SUV, this first MG Motors car in India will compete with rivals like Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V. With a premium interior and packed with features, the MG Hector is expected to garner pretty good interest from the customers. This rebadged version of Baojun 530 would boast some distinctive design elements for sure.
The MG Hector will have two engines on offer. A 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel motor as well. Both the engines would churn out around 168 bhp of maximum power. Spyshots revealed there will be an automatic gearbox. Alongside, there would be a manual transmission as well. MG Motors has been mulling the possibilities of helping the startups in automotive space under its ‘MG Drives Innovation’ initiative.

Car sharing is a concept meant for reducing the congestion on roads and air pollution as well. Besides car sharing platforms like Uber and Ola, there are several other companies working on that. Some automakers too are focusing on this sector. Some people like to drive themselves instead of being driven. Companies like Zoomcar, Myles are bringing them that opportunity only. Drive a car like your own without owning it. Recently launched Nissan Kicks too comes with a similar offer.
