New Honda City would get a new 1.5-litre petrol engine and a hybrid mechanism, likely to be bigger and better
Honda City has been the most appealing car in the midsize segment of the Indian car market. Currently, in its fourth generation the new Honda City is under work and likely to be unveiled this year. The fifth-generation Honda City is likely to go on sale in India from next year. It will be bigger and better on design, features and occupant comfort.
A big change for the car will be the BS6 emission norms compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine with a hybrid mechanism. No wonder, this will put the new Honda City at par with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Thanks to the suave styling, high-quality plastic and upholstery, the new City is going to throw a tough challenge to the Ciaz. This is going to be an interesting rivalry for sure.

2019 Honda City could get LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Revised bumpers, new alloy wheels, an updated lip spoiler will add charm further. Inside the cabin, the new Honda City will sport an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thanks to dimensional change, fifth-gen Honda City will offer more space and comfort for both front and rear occupants.
The midsize sedan will churn out more power and torque output compared to current one. Alongside that, there would be better fuel efficiency as well. Transmission options would include a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the CVT will continue in the new model. More power and torque, better mileage and refined engine performance will make this car much more appealing than ever for sure.

We hope the Japanese automaker offers a diesel-CVT combination with the new generation Honda City. Interestingly, there will be a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine additionally. This engine would be churning out around 128 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. However, it is not sure, if this engine will make it to the Indian market or not.
