Hyundai Venue will challenge the rivals like Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon, likely to launch in mid-May 2019
Hyundai has revealed the name of its first compact SUV that is internally codenamed as QXi. Despite the rumour suggesting its name as Styx, the SUV will come christened as Hyundai Venue. It will challenge the tough rivals like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. The Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300 too will see tough competition from this new SUV.
Despite the Indian car market being congested with compact SUVs, Hyundai believes there is still growth potential in this category. Hyundai Venue’s prime USP will be the connected car technology. The automaker has been focusing on the connected car tech for quite some time and the Hyundai Venue will be loaded with that. This will certainly make the SUV distinctive compared to its rivals.

A tech-laden car always gains special attention from the millennial, the new target customers of every automaker. Speaking about the design, the SUV draws inspiration from the new Hyundai Creta. Other elements include bold cascade grille, sleek LED daytime running lights, Hyundai Kona-like headlamps and chunky bumpers.
Interior of the SUV boasts a sunroof, ventilated seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto loaded touchscreen infotainment system. All these features make the SUV very appealing and premium. Being a sub-10 lakh category compact SUV, the Hyundai Venue will certainly arrive highly appealing. Hyundai also promises to equip the SUV with a telematics app that will directly connect the car with its owner, even when they are not physically close.

Engine options for the Hyundai Venue will include three different motors. There will be a 1.4-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre diesel engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor as well. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT as well. Interestingly, this will be the only dual-clutch automatic gearbox equipped car in the compact SUV segment.
