Tata Tiago JTP along with its hatchback sibling will receive 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Tata Motors caught everyone’s attention with the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP edition models. Yes, I loved those ‘performance’ focused versions of the Tiago and Tigor. Now, the homegrown automaker is ready to introduce new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system to these two cars. It is coupled with 4-speaker and 4 tweeters equipped audio system.
Currently, both the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP come with a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new 7.0-inch touchscreen comes from the Tiago and Tigor XZ+ grades that sit on top of the line. While these little changes will enhance the appeal inside the cabin, the exterior of the Tiago and Tigor JTP would also don some subtle updates. However, the automaker is yet to disclose the details.

Meanwhile, mechanically the Tiago and Tigor JTP will remain the same as the current model. The 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 112 bhp of power at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of maximum torque between 2,000-4,000 rpm will be there. A 5-speed manual gearbox performs the transmission duty. Interestingly, Tata’s first-ever performance cars are already quite popular among buyers. With the updates, expect the appeal to grow further.
The Tiago and Tigor JTP come priced at Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) at present. Expect the updated versions to come slightly premium over this pricing. Tata Motors has been working on a couple of new products as well. These include the much-awaited premium hatchback dubbed as Altroz. Upon launch, this premium hatch will lock horns with competitors like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
The brand has also unveiled the seven-seater variant of Tata Harrier, christened as Tata Buzzard. Apart from that, a micro SUV is also on the card. So far, Tata has upped its game significantly in recent times and in coming days too, the company is aiming higher.
