The luxury sedan is slated for launch on 3rd October and bookings are now open
Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has revealed the first look of the new 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The company is readying to launch the car on October 3rd with bookings already open from today, ie. 25th September. Elantra will be launched during the auspicious Navrati week well before Diwali.
New Elantra is sportier than before and has a progressive design language. It comes with new signature cascading hexagonal grille which, as per company terms, reflects the strong expression of a premium sedan. The headlight design is changed more towards a triangular shape which now comes with new LED DRLs, a better-toned bonnet, and triangular-shaped fog lamps. The alloy wheels design is also new 10-spoke star-shaped one. Taillights and rear bumper are redesigned to mesh with the new progressive design.

Speaking about the features, new Elantra will get 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which are compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Dual-Zone climate control and front ventilated seats, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Leather upholstery will also be offered in the higher variants. In terms of safety, the sedan will get 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, Vehicle stability control as well as traction control system.
There will be just one option for the engine and that will be 150bhp/192Nm 2.0-liter petrol engine. This engine will be BS6 complaint and no diesel engine option will be available as of now. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic, and Skoda Octavia will take their role as main rivals for new Elantra.
