Jeep Compass gets Rs 1.6 lakh benefits to tackling low sales
Since, the launch of MG Hector and later Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass’ sales have fallen to an average of 600 units a month. Last year, Jeep was delivering about 1200 units of Compass on a monthly basis. Hector and Seltos have eaten away all the market for Compass. The 600 odd units you are seeing on the charts every month are going to hardcore Compass fans’ homes.
To tackle this stiff competition, Jeep dealerships are giving away benefits of up to Rs 1.60 lakh on select variants of the SUV. Starting with the Sport diesel 4×2 model, it is the one with the highest Rs 1.60 lakh benefits. Sport petrol gets Rs 70,000 worth of benefits. Moving on to the Sport plus variant, the Compass gets Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 50,000 benefits on diesel and petrol engine respectively.
The diesel 4×2 in Longitude, Longitude (O), and Limited variants with a manual transmission get benefits up to Rs 1.4 lakh while the Limited (O) variant gets highest Rs 1.6 lakh worth of benefits. Speaking about the petrol-automatic equipped Longitude (O) and Limited trims get discounts up to Rs 1.10 lakh. Limited (O) with petrol-automatic is pegged with Rs 1.40 lakh benefits.
Jeep Compass Limited 4×4, Limited Plus, Limited Plus 4×4, and Trailhawks does not get any discount or benefits whatsoever.

There is two engine option on the entire range of Compass, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel. The turbo petrol motor churns out 163bhp while the diesel is tuned to produce 173bhp. While both the engine are BS4 compliant, Trailhawk Diesel is a BS6 compliant unit.
In the name of Manual transmission, there is a 6-speed unit. Petrol Compass gets a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and Trailhawk BS6 diesel is paired to a 9-speed automatic box. The four-wheel-drive system is available only on the higher diesel trims whereas the Trailhawk comes with 4×4 automatic system alone.
Next year, Jeep will give Compass a mid-cycle facelift to keep things fresh and along with it, both petrol and diesel variants will be upgraded to BS6 emission norms.
