Hurry, Kia Seltos to get significant price hike from January 2020!

South Korean car manufacturer has made it clear that it will hike the prices of Seltos SUV which was launched back in August 2019 starting from Rs 9.69 lakh for BS6 Petrol and Rs 9.99 lakh for Diesel BS6 ex-showroom, Delhi. Initial prices were introductory in nature to boost the demand which is now done with more than 40,000 order backlog. Not only this, the company said that the price hike will be significant and will affect the entire 16 variants of the SUV.

If we look at the HTE and HTK variants of both petrol and diesel, petrol has a gap of Rs 30,000 (HTE – 9.69 lakh, HTK – 9.99 lakh) whereas the diesel variants have a gap of Rs 1.2 lakh (HTE – 9.99 lakh and HTK – 11.19 lakh). Kia deliberately priced the HTE diesel variants under Rs 10 lakh mark to make a strong presence for BS6 diesel SUV.

Expect the highest hike on the HTK Diesel variant of more than nominal hike plus Rs 90,000 to balance the price. Rest of the variants including the GT variants will see a hike of more than 50,000 to Rs 80,000 on the respective price tags.

The models which will be delivered after 31st December 2019 will see the hike. All the Seltos which will be delivered before the said date will carry the introductory price tag. This might seem bit offensive to the buyers who booked the SUV this year considering the introductory prices in mind. The company should create a booking threshold after which the new bookings should be taken with hiked prices.
