2018 BMW M2 Competition gets juice from a 404 bhp generating 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine
2018 BMW M2 Competition has been launched in India at an eye-popping price tag of Rs 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom). With booking commenced in October 2018, the luxury performance car is meant to challenge the Porsche 718 Cayman with a significant advantage on pricing front along with power and torque generating ground as well. Yes, the 2018 BMW M2 Competition kicks out 108 bhp extra power and 170 Nm of more torque than the Porsche 718 Cayman.
Based on the 2-Series coupe, the M2 Competition comes with a super sporty appearance reflected through the large air inlets, glossy black kidney grille, muscular side profiles, quad exhaust tips, a rear spoiler etc. It is available in four metallic paint options along with one non-metallic colour.
Not only exterior, but the cabin too boasts the sporty vibe of the car. It features an all new instrument cluster with M-style instruments, red needles and white backlit. The M steering wheel gets wrapped with premium leather and gets paddle-shifters, while there are a red button for ignition, optional M sport seats and M2 badges as well. A 6.5-inch touchscreen with seven-speaker audio system is there. Also, there is a bigger 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system on offer as option with 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Speaking about the 2018 BMW M2 Competition’s heart, the 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine also works under the hood of M3 and M4. This engine churns out 404 bhp of peak power and 550 Nm of massive torque output. It can reach 0-100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph. There are different driving modes like Comfort, Sport and Sport+ offering the enthusiasts pleasure of driving.
