Aston Martin Vantage is finally here in India at an eye-popping price tag of Rs 2.95 crore (ex-showroom). The sports coupe is ends the wait for a car that comes with lethal combination of British design and German muscle. With only 20 units of the car meant for India, this is certainly one very exclusive car in the country. Delivery of the Aston Martin Vantage will commence from early 2019 and it will challenge German rivals like Mercedes-AMG GT, Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911.
Now, why we say it is the example of British design blended with German muscle is the Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood. The massive V8 is capable of blurting out 503 bhp of peak power and 685 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox that comes with paddleshifters. Thanks to such enormous figures, the coupe can reach 100 kmph from standstill position in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 315 kmph.
The Aston Martin Vantage Vantage is based on the next generation platform of the British marquee and 70% of the car’s components are bespoke. As the brand says, it has been built on a bespoke ‘Bonded Aluminium’ chassis, which is shared by the DB11. The new Vantage weighs 1,530 kg. It also comes with an electronic rear differential, being the first Aston Martin to have that. It comes with three different driving modes that are – Sport, Sport+ and Track. As the company claims, the Aston Martin Vantage has been designed for the young customers who seek the pure performance from their machine on four wheels and this car promises to do that only.
