Nissan India plans to launch array of new cars in India under both its brands Nissan and Datsun.
Nissan India has announced its future product strategy to launch an array of new models under both its brands, Nissan and Datsun. The Japanese automaker aims to be aggressive with its products and services in India. As the brand has cleared, it plans to bring more of its global cars in the country in order to boost sales and increase market share. Not only new models, but improvement of services is also on card.
Despite being present in India for quite long time, Nissan couldn’t fetch desired sales result, contrary to its alliance partner Renault. Datsun too has not been able to make a strong impact despite having affordable models in the entry level segment. However, Nissan India hopes to change the scenario with new features and technology in its future products. The automaker also aims to grab a large chunk when the country leaps toward electric mobility.
In order to achieve its target, Nissan has planned to expand its dealership network across India, optimize flexible manufacturing and strengthen R&D facilities together with its Alliance partners in the country. Nissan is gearing up to launch the models like Kicks, new Terrano and the Leaf EV as well. On the other hand, Datsun too is preparing to bring the new Go and Go+ in India and the facelifted RediGo is also on card. Apart from that, Datsun will launch the much awaited Go Cross as well, which was displayed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in its concept form.
As the young generation buyers of the country are contributing a large number to the total car sales in India and as they are focusing more on upmarket technologies and features, Nissan wants to give its cars a makeover with premiumness. In terms of purchase experience as well, Nissan is aiming to give the buyers refreshing experience with more digitization.
