Nissan Kicks is going to be the brand’s big bet in India to turn around once it arrives here in January 2019.
Nissan Kicks is going to be the next big launch from the Japanese carmaker in India. Expected to launch here in January 2019, the Nissan Kicks will be officially unveiled here on October 18, 2018. Designed for developing markets like Brazil and India, Nissan Kicks has grabbed pretty good attention already. In India, Nissan is betting big on this SUV to turn around here. Upon launch, the SUV will compete with tough rivals like Hyundai Creta.
Nissan Kicks follows the brand’s contemporary styling language and it comes with upmarket elements in order to be appealing. Interestingly, the India-spec Nissan Kicks will be bigger and better than the global market-spec model. It comes with a V shaped front grille with sleek chrome trim, flanked by large headlamps. There is a muscular bumper as well. It runs on sporty looking stylish alloy wheels and there are wraparound taillights at the back.
Inside the cabin, the India-spec Nissan Kicks will offer more space compared to the global model. It gets multifunction steering wheel, class leading fully digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Expect it to come loaded with advanced safety features.
Speaking about the power source of upcoming India-spec Kicks, the SUV will get a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the petrol and diesel engines will churn out generous amount of power and torque. For transmission, the SUV will employ a 5-speed manual gearbox for the petrol engine and a 6-speed manual unit for the diesel one. Also, there will be a CVT as option for the petrol powered version. Expect the SUV’s pricing to be between Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
