Tata Harrier products commenced at the brand’s Pune plant, first model rolled out.
Tata Harrier has been creating buzz for quite some time and now, the brand has officially published its image, straight from the Pune plant where the upcoming SUV is being manufactured. The Tata Harrier has been spotted several times doing testing on Indian roads, but this is the first time, it has been revealed without any camouflage. The SUV is scheduled to be showcased to the world in early December 2018 and its pricing will be announced in January 2019, while delivery will start from later that month.
The Tata harrier is going to be the brand’s next big car and it will be the flagship model as well. The SUV will initially come as a five-seater, but at later stage we will see a seven-seater variant as well. Based on the platform derived from Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Evoque’s platform, it has been tested for 22 lakh kilometer across the world. The SUV follows Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language.
The SUV gets projector headlamps, a large black front grille, sleek LED daytime running lights, skid plates, LED taillights etc. The large alloy wheels, chunky bumpers will add more muscle to this SUV. Inside the cabin, Tata Harrier will arrive with a very premium feel for sure. It will get a large touchscreen infotainment system combined with Harman Kardon premium audio system. There will be leather seat covers and upholstery. Expect ample space for the occupants, ambient lighting and many more features there.
Speaking about powertrain, the Tata Harrier will get a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine under the hood that will generate power in two different states of tune. While the five-seater variant will churn out 138 bhp of power, the seven-seater one will pump out 168 bhp of power. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit as well.
