The Tata Tiago NRG crossover could throw a tough challenge to the Ford Freestyle, the American automaker’s crossover based on the Figo hatchback. In terms of design, the Tiago NRG crossover is based on the standard Tiago, but there are some cosmetic additions like smoked headlamps, skid plates, black cladding, blackened door handles, new sporty 4-spoke 14-inch alloy wheels and a thick black trim at the centre of tailgate connecting the taillights.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Tiago NRG crossover gets orange trims at centre console and gearbox console adding style. Also, there would be special branded seats and upholstery. In terms of space, the Tata Tiago NRG crossover will be same as the standard Tiago and expect it to be based on the top-end trim of the hatchback.
Speaking about the powertrain options, the Tata Tiago NRG crossover will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engines will be borrowed from the Tiago and Tigor. For transmission duty, the Tiago NRG crossover will get a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency too is expected to remain same as the Tiago.
