Tata Tigor special edition won’t be the much awaited Tigor JTP, but likely to come in line with Tata Nexon Kraz.
Tata Motors is gearing up to launch a special edition of the Tata Tigor sedan on October 10, 2018. The upcoming one is not the much awaited Tigor JTP, as the brand has already confirmed. But, expect it to be a cosmetically updated model designed in line with the Tata Nexon Kraz. Interestingly, the homegrown automaker is also aiming to roll out the performance focused JTP variant of Tigor during upcoming festive season.
We might see the upcoming Tata Tigor special edition to boast some spectacular colour theme, while additional accessories across exterior will enhance its styling further. Also, there could be some cosmetic updates inside the cabin as well in form of new colour theme, special seat and upholstery badging and couple of features as well.
Previously, Tata Motors rolled out the Tigor Buzz edition that came with Berry Red paint theme contrasted with Black accent. Also, the special edition of the model would be sold in a limited number. Launching it right ahead of the festive season will boost the sedan’s sales a bit for sure.
Mechanically, the Tata Tigor special edition will come same as the standard version. In that case, it could be available in both petrol and diesel options. Petrol engine is a 1.2-litre Revotron unit that churns out 84 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant gets a 1.05-litre Revotorq engine, which puts out 68 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800-3,000 rpm. The special edition model is likely to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, as the AMT is unlikely to be available in this one.
