New Hyundai Santro has been the most awaited car of India in recent times and the tallboy hatchback is finally here with an eye-popping price range. No wonder, Hyundai kept the pricing so aggressive that it will give couple of widely popular cars in its segment run for money. One of them is the Tata Tiago that has received pretty good response and became a good revenue generator for the homegrown brand.

The new Hyundai Santro is priced between Rs 3.89 lakh and Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Tata Tiago is priced between Rs 3.92 lakh and Rs 6.04 lakh (ex-showroom). These two hatchbacks are clearly priced very competitively against each other.

New Hyundai Santro is available with a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT is also on offer. On the other hand, the South Korean brand also offers a CNG option coupled with the petrol motor. However, the Tata Tiago comes available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant gets energy from a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, while the diesel variant gets a 1.05-litre Revotorq unit. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT as well.
The 1.1-litre petrol engine of Santro churns out 68 bhp of power and 99 Nm of torque. The CNG variant generates 58 bhp and 84 Nm respectively. On the other hand, the Tata Tiago petrol comes kicking out 84 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant pumps out 69 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque.
