Mahindra Alturas G4 is the name chosen for the long awaited Y400 SUV, bookings open from today
Mahindra Alturas G4 will be released for the Indian market on the 24th November placed in the Rs 30lakh segment. Interested buyers may pre-book their Alturas G4 from today at a Mahindra dealerships. It borrows clues from Ssangyong G4 Rexton, and will match its capability and equipment levels as it will be the most expensive offering from Mahindra. Alturas G4 will be manufactured out of Mahindra’s Chakan facility in Maharashtra.
Preparing to compete in the luxury segment against long standing opponents like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Honda CR-V, Mahindra will be equipping Alturas G4 to the bone. Its huge size is an imposing start, it will have equipped interior and segment first features as claimed by the company. Since off road performance is high on cards, expect a strong selectable 4-wheel drive system paired with a torque heavy diesel engine. Safety is an important concern and Alturas G4 will get a lot with a few segment first systems.
The cat is out of the bag in three weeks, but we expect a lot of great kit from the Rexton will stay in. Expect a spacious comfortable cabin with luxurious features like zonal climate control, soft touch dash and ventilated seats. Driver aids like hill ascend and descend, knee airbags and traction control system will likely be available. XUV500 has already made a strong impact as an SUV, Alturas G4 will be another great choice for customers asking for a more premium but off-road capable product.
