Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be available in India in two different seating layout options. Mercedes-Benz launched the MB100 and MB140 vans in India in 1999. It also rolled out the R-Class in 2011. However, all of them were discontinued due to lack of demand. The new V-Class could experience a positive picture.
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class could be priced between Rs 75-80 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be sold as a CBU initially. However, the MPV could see localized production at a later stage. But, that depends on the demand for this model. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class shares several elements and technologies with siblings like C-Class and S-Class sedans. These include the switchgear, steering wheel, Mercedes Comand infotainment system etc.
The MPV has been designed following the brand’s latest styling language. Inside the cabin, the India-spec V-Class will be available in six-seater and seven-seater options. The MPV targets commercial operators like high-end travel companies and hotels. The brand claims, the MPV will be highly customisable, specially the six-seater variant. There will be swivelling seats, centre table.
The India-spec Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be sold with a single diesel engine option. This will get energy from 2.0-litre, four-cylinder BS-VI compliant OM654 engine that works in C-Class and E-Class All-Terrain. The engine churns out 191 bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Its technology list will include a wide range of driving assist features, Crosswind Assist, fatigue detection attention system etc.
