Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Harrier rivaling MG Hector booking available at Rs 51,000
With the first connected car of the country Hyundai Venue already launched, second one is ready to arrive next month. Yes, we are talking about the upcoming MG Hector that is set to launch next month. Ahead of its nearing launch, the MG Hector booking is now open for the potential buyers.
The MG Hector booking amount is Rs 51,000. There is no official confirmation yet, but several dealers across the country have already started receiving bookings for the car. Pricing of the car will be announced soon. Meanwhile, MG targets to sell around 18,000 units of the Hector connected SUV in India per year. It will target the rivals like Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
As MG has revealed, the Hector connected SUV brings a host of connected car features and technologies among whom several will be India-specific. The car gets an Airtel 5G e-SIM integrated to the system that connects the owner’s smartphone with the Hector’s system. With this, MG Hector owner can control a wide range of functions remotely just from the screen of his or her smartphone.
MG Hector looks bold and muscular from every angle thanks to its design that grabs attention at the very first glimpse. It boasts a flat face with LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights, large and shiny front grille. The bold and large wheels add masculinity to the SUV, while at the rear too, there are LED taillights. Inside the cabin, a portrait oriented big touchscreen infotainment system adds zing to the SUV and it looks like Tesla infotainment systems.
MG Hector will be the first car from the British marquee that is currently owned by Chinese automobile group SAIC. The SUV is being manufactured in Halol plant in Gujarat that was previously owned by General Motors.
