MG RX5 SUV is awaited in India for probable launch in June 2020, starting price likely around Rs 25 lakh
MG RX5 SUV is one of the models that is likely to launch in India. The SAIC-owned British brand is ready to roll out its cars in India in the second quarter of 2019. Ahead of that, in one event in Noida, the brand showcased some of its excellent models including the MG RX5. The MG RX5 India launch is expected to take place in June 2020. The MG RX5 price in India could be around Rs 25 lakh. What is most interesting, the showcased version of the RX5 was the electric powered one.
Speaking about the electric SUV, it is powered by a 113 bhp generating electric motor. It delivers 255 Nm of impressive torque. Also, the electric SUV’s 48.3kWh electric battery enables it to run over 400km on a single charge. That’s certainly an impressive fact about the SUV. Ahead of the electric variant, MG could launch the conventional fuel powered RX5 in India.

MG Motor India has already promised to bring an electric SUV in India soon. Considering the Indian government’s push for electric mobility, the MG RX5 Electric seems to be a perfect model. The automaker also showcased models like MG HS sporty SUV, MG eMG6 hybrid sedan and MG ZS compact SUV at the event.

In India, MG Motor is likely to launch models like MG Baojun 530 and MG GS SUVs alongside the MG RX5. So far, it is clear that the automaker wants to emphasize on the SUVs from the beginning. As the demands for SUVs in India is pretty high, this strategy will certainly benefit the brand.

MG Motor India will locally manufacture its cars in India at the erstwhile Chevrolet plant in Gujarat. Also, the brand aims to launch its cars across different segments. With this strategy, the British marquee is expected to grab strong attention from the customers in the country. Apart from launching new cars with excellent British design and hi-tech features, the automaker is also emphasizing on building a strong aftersales service network.
