Skoda Octavia Onyx edition is here for the ongoing festive season at Rs 19.99 lakh
Czech automobile manufacturer, which is owned by the Volkswagen group since 2000, Skoda has launched yet another model to attract customers this festive season. The all-new Skoda Octavia Onyx is here to serve as the new base model of the Octavia range in India. There are two models available in Onyx disguise – Petrol Automatic and Diesel Automatic.
The Octavia Onyx Petrol is powered priced at Rs 19.99 lakh ex-showroom. It is powered by the 1.8-liter TSI turbo petrol engine which develops respectful 177bhp and 250Nm of twisting force. This unit is paired to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Automatic transmission which is called DSG in the company’s terms.
The other model is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine which generates 140bhp and 320Nm torque. Since the torque output is higher than 250Nm thus this engine is mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. The price of the diesel model stands at 21.99 lakh ex-showroom which is Rs 2 lakh more than the petrol model.

Speaking about the changes, the Skoda Octavia Onyx edition comes all-black interior theme which is a replacement for the Beige/Black dual-tone finish in the standard Octavia. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped and has a ‘supersport’ flat bottom design. On the outside, the Onyx gets 16-inch gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black ORVMs, black decals on the sides and again a gloss black boot-mounted spoiler.

The feature list is quite long here with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Mirror Link compatibility. There is dual-zone climate control for the comfort of the driver and co-passenger. The driver and the co-passenger get the advantage of electrically adjustable seats. The car gets automatic LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a cooled-glove box and much more.
Safety is given priority as the Octavia Onyx gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ESC, TC, rear parking camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Skoda Octavia Onyx will compete with the likes of newly updated Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis.
