The new-gen Maruti WagonR is available at a pricing range of Rs 4.19 lakh – Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the new generation Hyundai Santro comes priced between Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both the Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro are priced very aggressively against each other. The pricing difference between both these cars is too close. However, Hyundai Santro base model is a bit cheaper than the WagonR.

Maruti WagonR vs Hyundai Santro: Practically powerful
Maruti WagonR is available with a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol unit. Alongside petrol, there is CNG offering as well. The 1.0-litre K10B petrol engine churns out 67 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The slightly bigger 1.2-litre K12M petrol engine pumps out 82 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm. These two engines are available with transmission options of a 5-speed manual gearbox and AGS.
The Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre petrol engine. However, there is a CNG variant of this car as well. The 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine kicks out 68 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 99 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. Interestingly, this new Santro is the first car of the brand to have an AMT.
